Lip sync keyframes

The keyframes for a 3D lip sync made with XSI 2010. I changed it a bit since the animatic faze, hopefully it read a little better now. Let's move on the the lip sync of this lip sync!
By now everyone and there dog have seen Fensler Films GI Joe parodies. So when I was looking for something short to lip sync, I took a clip from one of my favorites.

Take and Run

This take and run off screen took me about 10 hours all together. My aim was trying to make it feel like a classically animated piece without losing the mass that 3d animation brings. I'm quite pleased with the staggered hold animation at the top of his jump.

Demo Reels

It's that time of year folks! I'm getting ready to crank out a new *gasp* demo reel. I know, I know, your all excited like but calm down folks its not here yet, think of this as the teaser trailer followed by the web site plug at Comic-con. Featuing some animation you have seen before and some all new content you can get ready for the launch late September-ish. I know you excited to know all about it so here we go.

What's on it;

going by the old adage of quality vs. quantity I cut down my work to six pieces

  • Strut (3D)
  • Feminine walk (3D)
  • Jump exercise (3D)
  • Pitch (3D)
  • Hit by a truck (classical)
  • Lip sync (classical)
This in by no means the final track order. I have yet to come up with that.

But wait there is more! Also included on the disk is life drawings, yes that's right the crude renderings of a feaverd brain! The whole thing comes warped in a custom case design that'll look a little something like this.
You excited yet? I know I am!

Slippery Soap part 2

Animation in progress for the "Slippery Soap" vignette I'm working on. The big problem is that I can’t seem to get the 3d to have the same since of timing and weight that it 2d Lyca cousin does. (~_~)

Squawk!!!

Shrieking horrors sporting razor sharp talons, and capable dropping out of the sky like a falcon to tear hapless adventurers to shreds, the comparison to certain ex-girlfriends seems, sadly, unavoidable. Perhaps a lack of communication, far too little of the precautionary medication, or even their sense of reality being more flexible than is healthy, has resulted in the Harpies' regrettable state of affairs. Pity them or not, they will still eat your momma.

Made this for a rotoscope of a 3D caracter I am working on. I love my fantasy!

''Pop goes the weasel. How are you? Denny Crane. Still cuckoo for Coco Puffs. Who's your daddy? Denny Crane. Pop goes the weasel.''

For our first assignment in Z-brush, Francisco asked us to turn the generic head into the head of a celebrity; I chose one of my favorite actors, William Shatner, star of anything he gets paid for. I'm about 4 hours in at this point and it has become painfully clear that I was not meant for modeling.

Pitch

Blocky tosses the old horse hide around. For some reason, after the skull trasplant, his head now spazzes.

I guess that eveyone is allowd a bad drill, here is mine, the old addage "nineth time the charm" obviously did not come true here. I knew that a life devoted to the avoidance of sports would catch up to me!

Box Jump

I'm at the two hour mark again, here is the result. Again using reference from the astounding Mario Pochat (http://www.mariopochat.com/blog/am2/) I animated a man with no arms, jumping on to a box. Then he jumps off again. I hope I didn't loose anyone with the complex plot, but I felt it was worth the risk.
